This page explains how The Jeweller’s Florist (PTY) Ltd collects and uses personal information and cookies, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our full privacy policy, which applies to every order placed in our online store, is available here.

What we collect

  • Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, phone number and delivery and billing addresses.
  • Order information: what you buy, return or exchange. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, phone, WhatsApp, social media or our contact form.
  • Device and usage information: such as your browser, device, IP address and the pages you visit, collected through cookies (see below).

Why we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your orders, returns and exchanges.
  • To answer your questions and give you customer service.
  • To send you news and offers by email, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To understand how our website is used and to improve it.
  • To measure our advertising and show relevant ads, where you have allowed marketing cookies.
  • To prevent fraud and meet our legal and tax obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the store, such as Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment provider, couriers and the postal service, our email provider, and analytics and advertising partners such as Google and Meta. They may only use it to provide their services to us. We do not sell your personal information.

Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers that are bound by data protection laws or agreements that give a level of protection similar to POPIA.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit our website. We use:

  • Essential cookies: needed for your cart, checkout and site security. These are always on.
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use the site, for example through Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics.
  • Marketing cookies: such as the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel and Google Ads tags, which measure our advertising and help show you relevant ads.

You can manage cookies through our cookie banner where it is shown, and through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site such as checkout may not work.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including keeping order and accounting records for as long as South African law requires. After that it is deleted or anonymised.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No online service is completely secure, so please contact us straight away if you think your information has been compromised.

Your rights

You may ask us whether we hold personal information about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its use for direct marketing, or withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, email info@jewellersflorist.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

Children

Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
